Flowers of Hope collected!

In late October 2024, a call was launched to all Belgian schools to participate in the inspiring Flowers of Hope project . This unique initiative invites pupils to create beautiful crepe paper flowers for a stunning Kintsugi-inspired installation in the Belgian pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka.

Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics with gold paint, symbolises the beauty of repair and transformation. This philosophy fits perfectly with the theme of our Belgian pavilion, Human Regeneration. Thanks to Belgian expertise in life-saving technologies, we can regenerate our bodies and enjoy a longer, healthier and happier life.

The appeal to Belgian schools was received with overwhelming enthusiasm. Dozens of schools from all over Belgium applied to contribute to this special project. On 15 November 2024, 23 schools were selected:

Over the past month, students have been making hundreds of flowers with passion and creativity. Their colourful creations will undoubtedly become one of the eye-catchers in our pavilion. We got a sneak preview of the beautiful flowers created by the enthusiastic pupils. Their energy and dedication are infectious, and we cannot wait to see their works of art come to life at Expo 2025!
