The wait is over. The public tender for the design, construction, maintenance and decommissioning of the Belgian Pavilion was awarded to the winning consortium: Carré 7, Beyond Limits, OneDesigns, Pirnay Engineering and Polytech Engineering and their partners. On July 18, 2023 the winning consortium presented their design at a press conference presided by the Minister of Economy, Pierre-Yves Dermagne, at the Space Pole. The Space Pole is located on the grounds of the Royal Observatory of Belgium (ROB), the Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI) et the Royal Belgian Institute for Space Aeronomy (BIRA-IASB). Ambassador Mikami Masahiro for Japan in Belgium also attended the ceremony.
The winning consortium is made up of a team of architects, engineers, contractors and project managers: Carré 7, Beyond Limits, OneDesigns, Pirnay Engineering and Polytech Engineering in collaboration with their subcontractors: JMA, Make It Right, A-tech, Arter and Nihon Housing.
