The Wallonia-Brussels Week started off with the amazing Pino Spitaleri pop-up Atelier.
The diamond craftsman and his team transformed our BeBizz business centre into a whole new world. Visitors had the opportunity to learn about the exquisite technique of handling diamonds or to simply marvel at the beautiful collection they brought along with them.
The festivities continued with Agri-Food, with a masterclass by Haïssam Jijakli on the primary production of fruits and vegetables from innovative systems based above ground (hydroponics, aquaponics, rooftop cultivation, container cultivation), and a workshop by BellaVie on the role of diet in health and the importance of healthy and diversified microbiota thanks to foods rich in probiotics.
Fashion and design were up next! The Walloon-Brussels Week occurred at the same time as Dubaï Design Week, so this was the perfect opportunity to showcase Wallonia and Brussels' expertise in the field of fashion and design.
The NIYONA, design studio, specialising in high-quality custom-made leather goods, offered a participative workshop during which the brand shared its unique expertise and its passion for the leather goods trade.
The design studio MLSTUDIO offered a workshop entitled "Design the life you love", which allowed participants to experiment with the creative process of mood-boards and to discuss this experience.
Belvas, Linatelle and The Darcis Chocolate Museum came by to offer a workshop on chocolate. Could a workshop get any better? Only when you get the chance to taste it, and we can tell you that was one thing we did!
The workshop on Tourism took you to the most beautiful places in Wallonia, thanks to the VR experiences created, whilst still enjoying the lovely weather in Dubai.
Equisfair, the equestrian sector cluster in Wallonia, presented a masterclass featuring the strengths of their region, which is one of the world leaders in this sector.
The radiobiologist Sarah Baatout and the engineer physicist and Belgian astronaut candidate Vladimir Pletser lead an inspiring, dynamic dialogue on space exploration in Wallonia. In the afternoon we had a full house of young students enjoying the interesting facts about space technology.
