A month of Belgium at Expo 2020
The official inauguration
On the 3rd of October, we had the inauguration of our Belgian pavilion. We had the honour of welcoming HE Najeeb Al Ali, the Executive Director of the Commissioner General's Office who kindly presented us with a beautiful gift. Three of our platinum partners, Besix Group, Deme Group, and Elia were part of this joyous occasion and organised different sessions in our BeBizz business centre.
Official delegations
We welcomed our first official delegation from the Thailand Pavilion. Many more followed. Expo 2020 is the only place where the whole world can visit you without having to travel more than 20 minutes. We have welcomed the USA, Senegal, Finland, Malawi, Brazilia, Luxembourg, and we expect to welcome many more!
Lastly, we had the incredible honour of welcoming HH Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zayed AlNahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Press visits
We welcomed a lot of press to our Belgian pavilion. The list is long and ranges from Belgian press such as RTBF, De Standaard, Het Laatste Nieuws, De Tijd and Belga to a lot of local big names such as Gulf News, Sky News Arabia, Dubai TV, Abu Dhabi Media, ... and some international press from the likes of Rai Italia, Arch Daily and China Central Television.
Collaborations
We were welcomed by our Mobility District neighbours Australia together with Thailand for an exclusive culinary collaboration. The three chefs of these pavilions cooked up a three-course meal inspired by their country and culture.
EU Honour Day
We celebrated European Union Honour day at Expo 2020 on the 23rd of October. We honoured this day by bringing a few of our best musicians to Expo. People enjoyed a musical cumulative experience by Floris and the Flames at our own BeBizz business centre as well as at the Millennium Amphitheatre.
The Flemish week
From the 25th until the 28th of October the Flemish week was held at the Belgian pavilion. We were honoured to welcome the Minister-President of Flanders, Mister Jan Jambon, during this week organised by Flanders Investment and Trade.
