Expo 2025 Osaka
Osaka to host Expo 2025
A majority of the Member States of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) have voted for Japan to be the host country for the next Expo. As a founder member of this organisation, Belgium took part in this important vote.
Three candidates were vying for the nomination: Japan (Osaka), Russia (Ekaterinburg) and Azerbaijan (Baku).
The city of Osaka won the vote with the theme "Designing Future Society for Our Lives". During this global event, participants and visitors will focus on the global challenges which lie ahead.
Expos are held every 5 years. Following the next Expo 2020 Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, the world will meet again in Osaka, from 3 May to 3 November 2025.
