The future of the world
The figures are astounding: the site spans 4.38 km², which is twice the surface area of the Principality of Monaco, and the organisers are expecting more than 150 participating countries and 25 million visitors.
This hive of activity will last six months and aim to break down the barriers between ideas and bring (young) innovative minds together to make the most of our interconnected world. This will lead to environmentally-friendly solutions. Expo 2020 Dubai already plans to use renewable energy to cover 50% of the site's energy needs.
The theme of the expo will be broken down into three sub-themes: mobility, sustainability and opportunity.
Our country is a hotbed of inventors looking to connect people, goods and ideas. Belgium is at a crossroads and has plenty of imagination in the area of technological development. The Belgian pavilion will showcase this imagination, attracting the thousands of visitors expected every day with its gastronomic restaurant, shops and business centre.
