We talked to Ankur Upadhyay, their Marketing and Business Development Manager.
IngenioData is a smart tech firm located in Dubai's Innovation Hub that aims to make breakthrough technology more accessible to the general public in order to improve people's lives. We're on a mission to improve our customers' and other people's lives through extending innovation and providing a better user experience. We are on the verge of a paradigm shift in how people do business and communicate with one another, thanks to the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence (AI) and Augmented Reality (AR).
How many people do you employ?
We have an amazing team of 40+ people who are the core support in our vision to make technology more accessible and easy for all.
What does your profession mean to you? What impact do you think it can have?
It means almost everything to us. We consider it as the best part of our day to day life. It can bring various impacts in the sector of Marketing, Events, Hospitality, Healthcare etc. by taking the user experience to a next level.
What do you consider to be the biggest strength of your company?
We consider our cutting edge solutions and our innovative team as the core strength of our company. We bring answers to market needs at a high speed where others are still pondering.
What exactly will you be doing for the Belgian pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai?
We are deploying two smart solutions at the Belgian pavilion
- A Smartwatch solution for internal team management & communication. It allows seamless communication with team members internally. For corporates and warehouses, the need for employee tracking is at pace. Our smartwatch solution solves the employee tracking and management problems that many companies are currently facing.
- AR Indoor Navigation Solution to allow the visitors of the Belgian pavilion to experience the whole pavilion with the help of AR technology with a virtual 3D guide. The one-of-a-kind and cutting-edge solution focuses on a guided tour using Augmented Reality. The solution comes with a variety of virtual guides (Avatars) to pick from, and the AI-powered guide will direct the user across the premises with personalized recommendations.
What projects do you have for the future?
We are heading very strong with our core indoor navigation solution but we are also moving aggressively towards AR-based solutions. We recently launched a solution for Marketing call AR Cards. We are coming up with two more innovative solutions in the same space in the upcoming quarter.
What are the biggest challenges you face regarding your work?
Initially, during our launch, we faced a few challenges in terms of introducing the technology to people as we were well advanced during our first launch. We converted those challenges as opportunities by supporting people in how they can take the 100% benefit of our technology and solutions.
What are the values and objectives that you bring to your work?
- Continual growth
- Value-added contribution to the society
- Result-oriented approach
- Integrity and transparency
- Customer satisfaction
How has the current pandemic affected your work? The pandemic was tough but we took it as an opportunity to do some advancements on our solutions and did some really nice POCs.
Do you have any advice for others who want to start off on the same adventure as you?
The advice we would like to share with companies and individuals who are starting off is that DO NOT GIVE UP. Explore the possibilities, speak to as many people as you can. Get their feedback to improve and keep going.
